- Please review the administrative
guidelines, and sign where indicated to signify
your understanding of the terms of the scholarship.
- Fully complete the Candidate
Section, including the Personal Information,
Financial Aid, and Essay Sections. You are welcome to attach
additional pages if needed. Please clearly label any additional
pages by Section.
- Provide your Guidance Counselor
with the Guidance Counselor Section page of the application
package. This page should be sent directly to
the Selection committee at the address provided.
- The Teacher Recommendation Section
page should be given to the teacher of your choice
for completion and submission directly to the Selection
Committee at the address provided. There is no requirement
that this be a current teacher – only that you have
been a student in this teacher’s class sometime in
your educational career.
- The Personal Reference Section
is optional. You are welcome to submit up to
two personal references. There are no restrictions regarding
your choice of reference. They may be from family members,
employers, teachers, or anyone in the community.
When the package is complete, but no later than March 31st
of each year, please mail it to the Lisa Sechrist Memorial Foundation
Scholarship Selection Committee, C/O Brookfield Homes, Attn: Kim Mackmin at
8500 Executive Park Avenue, Suite 300, Fairfax Virginia 22031.
It will be held by the committee until the Teacher and Guidance
Counselor Sections are received. If it is noted that Personal
References are expected to be mailed directly, the package
will also be held until these are received. The scholarship
will be awarded within approximately 30 days and no later
than the end of the school year.
